Azmil Zakri

Azmil is currently the CEO of Atri Advisory, a consultancy firm that provides advice on sustainable development projects, policies and programmes in line with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. He is also the co-founder for Rekawan Studio, an architectural and design consultant company that is based in Kuala Lumpur. He is also attached to University Putra Malaysia as a lecturer and working on his PhD on Parametric Architecture. 

Previously Azmil received his International Baccaulearate Diploma at International School Tokyo in Japan, and then completed his Bachelors of Science in Architecture at Taylor’s University Malaysia. Afterwards he worked Tetawowe Atelier and Garis Architects before leaving for the UK to do his Masters of Architecture in Urban Design at the Bartlett School in University College London. Azmil then returned to Malaysia and has been working there since.

Among his expertise outside of the architecture field, he has developed an interest in sustainable development since he was part of the Sustainable Development solutions Network - Youth Chapter of Malaysia. He has also dabbled in programming, coding, software engineering as well digital fabrication (3D printing, computer assisted manufacturing). 

Azmil is also active in basketball as he has consistently played at all levels in different countries that he has resided in. Being involved in community services and also part of the student council of universities has honed his leadership skills, and has also translated into coaching University basketball teams.
