KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (24 February 2022) - Large majorities of people in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines are concerned about the biodiversity crisis, are aware of negotiations underway to create a global treaty to protect nature, and support a proposal to protect 30% of the world’s lands and oceans by 2030, according to a survey of 3,300 citizens of the three countries.
Kuala Lumpur (24 February 2022)--A poll of more than 1,000 Malaysians revealed overwhelming support for a global target to protect one-third of the Earth by 2030. Almost all respondents-- 96%--support the global goal, with your people, between the ages of 18 and 24, the most supportive of the goal. Of all respondents, 84% want the government to also support the global target.
Jakarta (24 February 2022)--A poll of more than 1,000 Indonesians revealed overwhelming support for a global target to protect one-third of the Earth by 2030. Almost all respondents--98%--support the global goal, and 94% want the government to also support the global target.
Manila (24 February 2022)--A poll of more than 1,000 Filipinos revealed overwhelming support for a global target to protect one-third of the Earth by 2030. Almost all respondents--95%--support the global goal; 85% want the government to also support the global target.
